5. CHOICES HAVE CONSEQUENCES

Portion of Scripture: Deuteronomy 30:19

God charged Israelites in Deuteronomy 30:19 that “I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life that you and your children may live.” God told them and is also telling us this day that the choice is ours; to choose life together with all its consequences (i.e. the life package that has goodness, mercies of God, blessings, good health, prosperity, joy that are God given) or to choose death with all its consequences (i.e. the package of death that includes all manner of evil, curses, sickness, misfortunes that are from the evil one).
Make personal decisions and do not follow the crowd. Do not always follow the majority because maybe all the fools are on one side. Your decisions will always determine your destiny. Every decision you make will create a good or bad result. You are a product of your choices. Your fate is determined by the choices you make. You can choose your choices but you cannot choose the consequences of your choice. Decisions made today cannot affect your yesterday or your past. But a decision you made yesterday or in the past will continue affecting you today and forever until you cancel them with the words of your mouth in the name of Jesus.
God is urging us earnestly and urgently now to choose life so that we and our children may live. That is God’s eternal promise repeated by St. Paul to the Romans and to us this day that ‘the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.’ (Romans 6:23, part ‘b’ [KJV]) But unfortunately, many do not want to hear anything to do with God promises found in His Holy Scriptures and they prefer a sinful life whose end is death, forgetting that “the wages of sin is death.” (Romans 6:23, part ‘a’ [KJV])
I urge you brethren to choose your choices well by meditating on God’s law day and night. “Blessed is the man that walks not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor stands in the way of sinners, nor sits in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the LORD; and in his law does he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he does shall prosper.” (Ps 1:1-3 [KJV]) And then you shall make your way prosperous. “This book of the law shall not depart out of your mouth; but you shall meditate therein day and night, that you may observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then you shall make your way prosperous, and then you shall have good success. Have not I commanded you? Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be you dismayed: for the LORD your God is with you whithersoever you go.” (Joshua 1:8-9 [KJV])

Amen.
