13. TALK TO THE MOUNTAIN
By Felix Ngunjiri Gichuri
‘Jesus told His disciples, “For I assure you: If you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will tell this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move. Nothing will be impossible for you.” (Matt 17:20 [HCSB])
The Power of the Spoken Word
God is saying to you today, Servant of God, if you shall say to this mountain that is hindering you from moving forward, “Be thou removed, and be thou cast into the sea; and shall not doubt in your heart, but shall have faith (even in) in those things which you say shall come to pass; you shall have whatsoever you shall have said.” (Mark 11:23). The mountain can be anything that is hindering you from moving forward in your journey of life including devils, demons, strongholds, rulers of darkness of this world, principalities, powers, bondage, sickness, disease, challenges and anything else that is restraining you or blocking your way. Spoke words have powerful effects. What God speaks comes to pass. Over and over in Genesis 1, we see the words, “And God said.” Whatever God said became reality. He said, let there be light, let there be plants, let there be living creatures, and finally let us make man in our own image. All of these things in the world are a reality today because God spoke them into existence thousands of years ago. All of creation is a result of God’s word spoken in the beginning of time. The Word of God is powerful, because it is guaranteed by God to be effective. When you speak the Word of God, you are tapping into His limitless power! You shall tell the mountain to be removed and it shall be removed.
Just Speak What You Want
Just have faith in God. He says that He has given you the power of the spoken word. According to the book of Mark 11:20-22, Jesus told His disciples in that if only you have faith in God as small as a mustard seed, you can speak what you want. You can speak the answer to your question. You can speak the solution to your problem. You can speak to a fig tree and command it to dry and it will dry that same hour just like He did.“Early in the morning, as Jesus was returning to the city, He was hungry. Seeing a lone fig tree by the road, He went up to it and found nothing on it except leaves. And He said to it, “May no fruit ever come from you again!” At once the fig tree withered. When the disciples saw it, they were amazed and said, “How did the fig tree wither so quickly?” Jesus answered them, “I assure you: If you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what was done to the fig tree, but even if you tell this mountain, ‘Be lifted up and thrown into the sea,’ it will be done. And if you believe, you will receive whatever you ask for in prayer.” (Matt 21:18-22 [HCSB]) You can command your problem to dry up and disappear. Tell the disease the devil has planted in you to be removed and be cast into the sea and if you shall not doubt in your heart, but shall believe that those things which you say shall come to pass; you shall have whatsoever you say. Command it to be removed and be cast into the sea and if you shall not doubt in your heart but shall believe that those things you shall say shall come to pass, you shall have whatsoever you say. YOU SHALL HAVE WHATSOEVER YOU SAY.
Jesus said in Mark 11:24. Therefore I say unto you, What things soever you desire, when you pray, believe that you receive them, and you shall have them (Mark 11:24 [KJV]). Because the mountain has tormented you a lot, you have prayed, fasted but it has stubbornly refused to go away, tell the mountain that you are going to teach it a lesson. Tell the mountain to submit to your authority and be under the soles of your feet. Remind the mountain a few scriptures concerning subjecting the mountain to be under the soles of your feet. “But to you who fear My name the Sun of Righteousness shall arise with healing in His wings; and you shall go out and grow fat like stall-fed calves. YOU shall trample the wicked, for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet on the day that I do this, says the Lord of hosts.” (Malachi 4:2-3)
“Behold, I give you the authority to trample on serpents and scorpions (mountains, storms in the sea, the devil, demons), and over all the power of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19)
“For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds; Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;” (2Cor 10:3-5 [KJV])
Tell the Mountain to be Your Stepping Stone and it Will Submit to Your Word
Tell the mountain that you are not going to walk around it like other folks do as you pray for them that struggle to meander their way round the mountain. Tell the mountain you will make it a stepping stone to your success, to greener pastures and be your breakthrough. Tell the mountain that it will be your carpet and launching pad to success. You shall then have turned your limitation to opportunity, your weakness to strength, your obstacle into a miracle that will lead you to your success, healing and God’s blessing.
Possess the Mountain with the Words of Your Mouth
You can also remind the mountain that you can possess it as an inheritance for your children just by stepping on it. “After the death of Moses the LORD’s servant, the LORD spoke to Joshua son of Nun, who had served Moses: “Moses My servant is dead. Now you and all the people prepare to cross over the Jordan to the land I am giving the Israelites. Every place that the sole of your foot shall tread upon, that have I given unto you, as I said unto Moses.” (Joshua 1:1-3 [KJV])
‘Then the children of Judah came unto Joshua in Gilgal: and Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite said unto him, Thou knowest the thing that the LORD said unto Moses the man of God concerning me and thee in Kadeshbarnea.7Forty years old [was] I when Moses the servant of the LORD sent me from Kadeshbarnea to espy out the land; and I brought him word again as [it was] in mine heart. 8Nevertheless my brethren that went up with me made the heart of the people melt: but I wholly followed the LORD my God. 9And Moses sware on that day, saying, Surely the land whereon thy feet have trodden shall be thine inheritance, and thy children’s for ever, because thou hast wholly followed the LORD my God. 10And now, behold, the LORD hath kept me alive, as he said, these forty and five years, even since the LORD spake this word unto Moses, while [the children of] Israel wandered in the wilderness: and now, lo, I [am] this day fourscore and five years old. 11As yet I [am as] strong this day as [I was] in the day that Moses sent me: as my strength [was] then, even so [is] my strength now, for war, both to go out, and to come in. 12Now therefore give me this mountain, whereof the LORD spake in that day; for thou heardest in that day how the Anakims [were] there, and [that] the cities [were] great [and] fenced: if so be the LORD [will be] with me, then I shall be able to drive them out, as the LORD said. 13And Joshua blessed him, and gave unto Caleb the son of Jephunneh Hebron for an inheritance. 14Hebron therefore became the inheritance of Caleb the son of Jephunneh the Kenezite unto this day, because that he wholly followed the LORD God of Israel.’ (Josh 14:6-14 [KJV])
“Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works (miracles) that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.” (John 14:12 [KJV])
Christ Delegates His Immense Powers to Whoever Believes in Him
Our Lord delegates His immense powers to whoever believes in Him so that we continue His mission of bringing the Kingdom of heaven down here on earth so that we qualify to reign with Him when He shall come back to earth after having conquered the world, sin, death, hell and the devil who is the satan. He wants us to know that He gives immense powers to whoever believes in Him over every other power so that we preach the Gospel with the power of God upon us as His witnesses. “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.” (Acts 1:8 [KJV])
“Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you.” (Luke 10:19 [KJV]) All the promises of God are available to whoever knows Him and believes in Him. Jesus Christ was excited when His disciples knew who He was through the revelation given to Peter by God the Father. “When Jesus came into the coasts of Caesarea Philippi, he asked his disciples, saying, Whom do men say that I the Son of man am? And they said, Some say that thou art John the Baptist: some, Elias; and others, Jeremias, or one of the prophets. He saith unto them, But whom say ye that I am? And Simon Peter answered and said, Thou art the Christ, the Son of the living God. And Jesus answered and said unto him, Blessed art thou, Simon Barjona: for flesh and blood hath not revealed it unto thee, but my Father which is in heaven. And I say also unto thee, That thou art Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it. And I will give unto thee the keys of the kingdom of heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever thou shalt loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven. Then charged he his disciples that they should tell no man that he was Jesus the Christ.” (Matt 16:13-20 [KJV])
The Mystery of the Kingdom of Heaven is Christ the Messiah, The Anointed One of God
Our Lord gets excited to know that we know the mystery that has been hidden to mankind for ages that He is the Christ, (which means Messiah, the Anointed One), the Son of the living God. The word Christ is a Greek word Christos that is a translation of the Hebrew word Messiah. Translated into English, it means anointed or the Anointed One. It also refers to His anointing. Christ means the anointed one, the one with the anointing. The word anoint means rub into, smear all over or pour on. That means that God came down to earth in the form of His dear Son to pour Himself upon us so as to dwell in us and abide in us so that we be like Him. He wants us to have the same powers that He has. He wants to give us the keys of the kingdom of heaven when we have knowledge of Him as the one who has the anointing, the one who gives the anointing. The word anointing means God’s power poured or rubbed into human flesh enabling the person He anoints to do greater miracles than the ones He did while he was here or earth: power to lay hand on the sick and they get healed, power to cast out devils and even to raise the dead. “And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out devils: freely ye have received, freely give.” (Matt 10:7-8 [KJV])
Those Who Know Jesus as the Christ Shall be Given the Keys of the Kingdom of Heaven
God through His Son Jesus Christ is able to give to whoever believes in Him the keys of the Kingdom of heaven so that whatever they bind in the name of Jesus shall be bound in heaven, and whatever they loose shall be loosed on heaven. God has revealed through His word that we can bind whatever we do not want in our life: diseases, bondage, devils. God explains that we have power to bind all those works of the devil including the devil himself because the devil is a weakling. We have the power through the Christ in us to bind him, torment him and destroy all his works. To bind means to tie so tightly that we immobilize his activities and his works similar to how he will be bound in the last days by a single angel who used a long chain to bind him for a thousand years. “And I saw an angel come down from heaven, having the key of the bottomless pit and a great chain in his hand. And he laid hold on the dragon, that old serpent, which is the Devil, and Satan, and bound him a thousand years, And cast him into the bottomless pit, and shut him up, and set a seal upon him, that he should deceive the nations no more, till the thousand years should be fulfilled: and after that he must be loosed a little season.” (Rev 20:1-3 [KJV])
Keys of the Kingdom Give the Believers Power to Bind What They Don’t Want and Release What They Want
Believers have the power to bind whatever they don’t want including diseases, devils, curses, poverty, temptations which are brought to us by the devil himself to torment us. Believers also have the power to loose or release what they want for themselves and for their loved ones: God’s blessings, God’s favour healing, joy, freedom from bondage, prosperity, God’s goodness as long as we ask for it in the name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ the Son of the Living God,the creator of heaven and earth. Jesus told His disciples and to us by extension that
“And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.” (John 14:13[KJV])
And whatever Jesus promises is true because He said that He is “the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.” (John 14:6 [KJV])
“And to the angel of the church in Philadelphia write; These things saith he that is holy, he that is true, he that hath the key of David, he that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth;” (Rev 3:7 [KJV])
Amen.
